This annual event includes wonderful sweets and savories and of course cups and cups of tea. There will be a photographer present to take pictures of everyone in their great outfits and prizes are given for the best costume and hat. This year’s entertainment will feature Tapestry Choir and Bell Ringers. Our volunteers have put together a large selection of Opportunity Baskets. Foundation volunteers have also made magnificent Victorian hats to sell to support the Foundation. A video of Ruth telling her own story, etched ornaments, and other gift items will be sold. Once again the Forest Home Farms tractor fleet brought home the blue ribbon for the antique automotive category in this year's Fourth of July Parade up in Danville.

David and Eliza Glass built the house in 1877, farmed the land and raised 7 children there. In 1931 upon the death of Loretta, the last daughter, the house was sold to the Elissondo family. For a time it was a restaurant called the Farm House Inn. Then it provided a home to the Elissondos where they raised two children. In later years, it was leased to a sanitarium and eventually became office space for local businesses. In 1998, it was moved from its original location to become part of Forest Home Farms. Now it is open to the public. Details....
Forest Home Farms Oral History Project
We have several oral histories in various stages, some that still need transcribing and editing and many folks that still need to be interviewed!
Needs include: transcription, editing and indexing of oral histories; searching transcribed oral histories for keywords relating to Boone and Glass family history; interviewing people.
