CONTRIBUTE TIME

We know your time is valuable! We have many opportunities to take advantage of you as a valuable asset. We are always looking for volunteers to fill important needs. Some of the needs are for programs or events planned by the City of San Ramon. Others are planned and carried out by the SRHF.

CITY EVENTS

  • You could become a docent at the Farm, Every School year, approximately 3,000 third graders visit the farm for a morning field trip. Docents are needed to lead tours ,describing the history of the Farm, showing them how to garden, can or explore Grandma’s trunk or Grandpa’s tool chest (a script is provided).
  • Do you like to work in the garden? We need folks who can lead our garden tours.
  • How about helping out with the annual clean-up? The farm and equipment gets dusty over the winter months and we need help to make everything clean and shiny.
  • Could you help us direct parking at one of our larger events
  • We need volunteers to lead tours of the farm or the Glass House Museum, and to welcome visitors in our Welcome Center, when we are open during the second Saturday of each month. i

The City has many needs to fill. Some are on-going and some are one day events. If you have the time and interest, we need your help. Call the City Staff at 925-973-3284.

SRHF Events and Ongoing Needs

  • The Foundation has a new Auxiliary group of volunteers that help the board plan and work at events such as Sheep Shearing, Holiday on the Farm, or future other events such as a possible Ice Cream Social.  We welcome new members to the Auxiliary as a new and exciting arm of SRHF. 
  • Our Gift Shoppe at Forest Home Farms is open during events or other special days.  We need volunteers to help sell our wonderful collection of gifts for all ages.
  • Every September we host our signature event called the Victorian Tea. We need help with the planning committees such as food, decorations, programs and others.
  • We always need help for our popular Crab Feed held every January or February.
